About midway
between F and E streets on 7th street we find the District Chop
House & Brewery (509 7th St NW DC 202/347-3434) Steaks, chops, tasty seafood, salads and brick-oven
pizzas with a full service scotch and bourbon, hand-carved billiard
tables and comfortable cigar lounge equipped with armchairs and
sofas. All the things you expect from a steakhouse casual
dining at affordable prices.... $20 up
'Good but
what's next'? Only a short walk away that question gets
answered. On the Southwest corner at 7th and E street
stand Jaleo almost
beneath the awning for The Shakespeare Theater next door. Just
before you enter Jaleo sidewalk seating can be seen down
E street. Don fret that's
our next stop.

place for a pre-theater meal. Spanish, Tapas offering 50
bite-sized appetizers, hot and cold, and spicy.......
And right next
door on E Street we find the
Austin Grille (750
E St NW DC) Terrific chilli the staple for a tex-mex restaurant
passes the grade receiving an A pluses. If you love side walk
seating and tex-mex, This might just be the place.
