Most one night stands are forgettable. Others embarrassing.
And still others frightening. But on that rare occasion a one nite
stand will grabs you and won't let go. You want to replay it over and
over and over. And that the way you'll once you here One Nite Stand one of the
area top bands.
One Nite Stand's base is Reggae that's
thick, funky bottoms of reggae grooves. They do covers better than any and I do mean any band I've
seen perform. From Santana to Bill Withers - from Marvin Gaye to
James Brown- Patti Labelle to well - well you get the Idea.
Imagine the naughty guitar of Santana as it begins the tune 'Europa'
and blaring sax of Gato Barbiero ending it. One Nite Stand has a way of diving into a
tune and before the ends turning it inside out and making it their
own..
The band is solid the bass so thick and
smooth you can almost stand on it. Remember the drum in Phil Collins' Into
the Night then your want to hear these drums. And if you
don't recall Phil, then loosen up will you...
The energy of everything man Walter Tate is infectious.
Whether he is working the sax, clarinet, keyboards of percussions
you hear and witness and feel the artist at work.. And it is good...
With Prince out your system, it's time to embrace our very own.
Walter is no American Idol. He much more. Walter Tate is a gifted
musician. After spending year honing his craft Walter delivers.
Vocalist Sista Pat has personality. She adds
the sparks - keeping the energy level high. She weaves from Marvin
to Patti Labelle with ease while capturing the artist's mood
and adding personality (there goes that word again). Her job
is crowd control and she handles it splendidly, with spunk, humor
and sass.
Now the good part. You can catch One Nite
Stand every Monday at Madam's Organ smack dab in the heart of
Adams Morgan and in Northern Virginia September 4th at EnsiDeout in
Arlington: 1345 N Court House Rd.
One Nite Stand has a new fan. After you hear
them you'll be the next.... And say Happy Birthday to
Walter......
